Random Thoughts . . .

I am having a hard time organizing my thoughts today – there are a couple things I wanted to talk about but they don’t really connect in any way.  So, I apologize in advance for the complete randomness of my post (especially to my high school composition teacher!)

First off, it’s Disney Marathon Weekend – and I want to wish all the Disney runners a most fabulous race tomorrow. Whatever race(s) you run this weekend –  I am sure it will be a fantastic experience! And did you happen to see the awesome Disney-themed running shoes New Balance designed for the occasion? If you didn’t snatch them at the expo, I hear they are going for $400 on ebay right now.  NOT very Disney-like!

If  I were to ever run a marathon, I know it would have to be at Walt Disney World.  Just the thought of running such a fantastic course is beyond exciting to me.  I have no doubt it would be a truly remarkable (and emotional) experience – one that would be remembered for a lifetime.  Good luck to all the participants!!

Next item – the Magic Kingdom will be closing the doors of the Main Street Bakery tomorrow.  Why?  Well, if you haven’t heard, you haven’t been reading my blog

Just kidding, Starbucks is coming (cue the band!!!)  I have to tell you that I am honestly excited about this one.

Yes, I will miss the iconic bakery.  Yes, I understand the folks sad to see it go (though some of the posts I have read have been rather extreme – let’s try to keep it together, shall we?)

As you know, I love coffee!  And you cannot find a decent cup of coffee inside any of the Disney Parks. This summer that will all be changing and I couldn’t be more thrilled!  I have faith that Disney will do this right.  Based on the Starbucks opening in Disneyland, I believe the response has been positive.  I’m keeping the faith with this one – can’t see it going any other way.

Lastly, lots of press about MyMagic+.  I will be dedicating a separate post for this once I get a better understanding of how things will work.

But, from what I read so far –  I can honestly say vacation planning has hit a new level.  With MyMagic+, you will be able to plan your trip details before and during your stay – and this includes FastPass reservations.  I really am not sure how I feel about this, but part of my hesitation is not having the details – so let’s reserve judgement for now.

Okay, I’m off to start training for the 2014 Marathon (kidding!!!) I’m really off to have a cup of coffee. Have a magical weekend!!
